Military and Family Life Counselors (MFLCs) serve as essential support for the mental health of our Service Members, providing immediate assistance as needed.
Leidos is seeking dedicated licensed mental health professionals who are prepared to adopt a flexible schedule, stepping in to provide crucial support across various military installations and communities. MFLCs focus on delivering proactive counseling services, employing solution-oriented strategies to tackle issues before they escalate.
Understanding Mission Ready Reserve (MRR)
Mission Ready Reserve MFLCs are trained professionals ready to assist when required. This role allows counselors to concentrate solely on their passion for helping others, free from administrative burdens. Accepting assignments is at the discretion of the Mission Ready Reserve counselor.
The MRR Team has a temporary position available for an existing MFLC on leave, providing an opportunity to positively influence the lives of those who serve our country.
MRR MFLC Service Model:
The Mission Ready Reserve model enables counselors to focus on their clients without the complexities of insurance or extensive documentation. Benefits include:

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide face-to-face counseling to military service members and their families, including individuals, couples, and children.
- Recommend appropriate referrals based on clinical expertise to military and community resources.
- Conduct presentations to enhance social skills and emotional learning crucial for early childhood development.
- Establish rapport with service members and their families by engaging in community events.
- Assist families and children with unique challenges related to military life, including transitions, relocations, and deployments.
Work Environment:
In accordance with the Department of Defense (DOD) guidelines, duties are performed in various indoor (approximately 60%) and outdoor (approximately 40%) settings. Indoor locations may include military installations, schools, or child development centers. Outdoor tasks may involve navigating uneven terrain and exposure to various weather conditions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A master's degree or higher in Behavioral Health Professions (MS/MSW/MA/PhD).
- Must possess a valid independent mental health license from any U.S. state or territory (LCSW, MFT, LPCC, Psychologist).
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Ability to pass a background check for employment and obtain necessary clearances.

Compensation:
Hourly pay ranges from $28 to $50, based on experience and qualifications.
