Church World Service is a global organization that works to overcome hunger, poverty, and injustice. We are seeking a skilled Immigration Case Manager to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a critical role in supporting refugees, asylees, and immigrant entrants in their journey to a new life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare immigration court case files, exhibits, relief applications, waiver applications, and motions by collecting, organizing, and summarizing information, documents, reports, and evidence.
  • Conduct intake interviews with clients and assist attorneys with client consultations to determine eligibility for desired immigration benefits and services.
  • Prepare clients for USCIS interviews and court hearings, and conduct legal orientations for clients in removal proceedings.
  • Assist clients in completing their immigration applications, including employment authorization, permanent residence, asylum, parole renewal, citizenship, and court motions.
  • Manage client appointments and professional duties to ensure thorough and professional representation of client interests.
  • Develop and maintain accurate case lists and manage case files, and conduct file reviews to ensure that all case files are maintained appropriately.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in continuing educational opportunities and participating in trainings and courses as needed to obtain partial or full DOJ accreditation.
  • Represent clients at USCIS and/or immigration court as an Accredited Representative, and represent CWS/IRP at community-based organization meetings related to immigration issues.
  • Provide "Know Your Rights" presentations to the Afghan community monthly, and assist with reporting and documentation per funder requirements.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree is required. Minimum 3 years of previous work experience with asylum seekers, refugees, asylees, and immigrant entrants is also required. Dari, Pashto, Spanish, or other language verbal and written fluency is desired. Strong computer literacy with knowledge of word processing and database applications is also required. Ability to use standard office equipment in performing varied activities, attention to detail, respect of confidentiality, and strong English writing skills are also essential. A reliable vehicle with an insurable driving record is also required.
