Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Immigration Case Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing case files, conducting outreach, and providing support to clients.
Key Responsibilities- Case Preparation: Prepare immigration court case files, exhibits, relief applications, waiver applications, and motions. Assemble case materials by collecting, organizing, and summarizing information, documents, reports, and evidence.
- Outreach and Client Support: Conduct outreach primarily in the Afghan community to inform them of service availability. Conduct intake interviews with clients and assist attorneys with client consultations. Analyze each applicant to determine eligibility for desired immigration benefit and services.
- Application Assistance: Assist clients in completing their immigration applications, including employment authorization, permanent residence, asylum, parole renewal, citizenship, and court motions.
- Case Management: Properly manage client appointments and professional duties to ensure thorough and professional representation of client interests.
- Professional Development: Update job knowledge by participating in continuing educational opportunities and participating in trainings and courses as needed to obtain partial or full DOJ accreditation.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of previous work experience with asylum seekers, refugees, asylees, and immigrant entrants
- Language: Dari, Pashto, Spanish or other language verbal and written fluency desired
- Skills: Strong computer literacy, attention to detail, respect of confidentiality, and strong English writing skills
