About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Development Director to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for generating revenue for our Heart Challenge Campaign, including our signature Hawaii Heart Walk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to achieve revenue goals aligned with funding research, public health, professional education and training, and community services.
  • Manage and cultivate high-level corporate and individual donors, developing and implementing year-round cultivation plans to ensure superior donor relations.
  • Prospect, solicit, and steward high-level donors, with a focus on securing significant gifts to support our mission.
  • Collaborate with staff and volunteers to plan, develop, and implement campaigns and events, ensuring alignment with best practices and event timelines.
  • Provide staff support in volunteer leadership recruitment, orientation, and development, ensuring a strong and diverse volunteer leadership base.
  • Ensure that all fundraising efforts are aligned with the Association's Fiscal Standard policies and all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and standards.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in fundraising, sales, or equivalent type experience.
  • Strong initiative to effectively prospect and secure new business with a reputation for donor-centric results.
  • Ability to do daily local travel; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis.
  • Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving.
