About the Role

As a Senior Director of Software Development, you will lead the Data-Plane Platform teams for Oracle's Technical Strategy & Oversight Organization. Your charter will be to develop prescriptive guidelines, standard platform services, libraries, and tools to enable efficient, reliable, and converged data-planes across Oracle.

You will build an organization that brings together low-level systems knowledge and data plane expertise, working with senior technical leaders to define, design, and develop solutions to complex problems. This is an exciting time in our space, with rapid growth, innovation, and ambitious initiatives such as a data-plane runtime framework, remote persistent storage, and standards for critical performance improvements.

Responsibilities
  • Direct, lead, and coach engineering teams to deliver successful products and services.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices, ensuring compliance and driving innovation within the organization.
  • Launch new cloud services and establish operational excellence.
  • Set the technical direction for foundational data-plane components across Oracle.
  • Build high-performing, geographically distributed engineering teams.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop the best talent.
  • Establish and stimulate software development standards and processes, along with best practices for the entire organization.
  • Develop strategic plans to accomplish technical and business objectives with leadership, teams, and customers.
  • Define new KPIs to inform decision-making and prioritization.
  • Set goals and expectations for performance and work with employees to establish specific, measurable goals and commitments.
