Position Overview:
This role supports the U.S. Army Chaplain Corps (CHC) by formulating strategic initiatives, executing relevant engagements, and implementing comprehensive communication strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Evaluate Army religious support missions and functions to pinpoint essential capabilities, ensuring that initiatives are aligned through a detailed analysis that addresses significant areas of concern.
2. Review and assess the transformation plans and activities of the Office of the Chief of Chaplains (OCCH) that may influence Army religious support organizations and resources, including financial, manpower, and equipment considerations.
3. Analyze emerging policies from governmental bodies that could affect OCCH's operational and organizational capacity to fulfill its mission.

Employment Conditions:
Appointment may require a suitability or fitness determination based on a completed background investigation. This position allows for situational telework, including emergency and unscheduled telework as prescribed by OPM. A one-year trial period may be necessary.

Travel Requirements:
The incumbent may need to travel away from the primary duty station up to 25% of the time.

Security Clearance:
Maintaining a Secret clearance is mandatory for this position.

Qualifications:
This position may be filled as a term appointment not to exceed two years, with potential extensions up to eight years with Department of Defense approval. Current permanent Federal employees applying for a term appointment will be converted without statutory return rights to a permanent position.

Eligibility:
Applicants must meet one of the employment authority categories to be eligible for this position. Experience is defined as paid and unpaid work, including volunteer roles through National Service programs and other organizations.

Specialized Experience:
Applicants should possess one year of specialized experience that includes:
1. Evaluating strategies to enhance projects, transformation plans, and activities.
2. Developing strategic initiatives and communication plans to support missions and policies.
3. Assessing transformation plans to determine their impact on organizations and resources.

- Technical Competence

Additional Information:
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required, and direct deposit of pay is mandatory.
