Position Overview:

This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about supporting clinical operations and enhancing patient experiences. The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of a healthcare facility by providing essential clerical and clinical support under the supervision of healthcare providers.

Work Schedule:

These positions are full-time, primarily scheduled during weekdays. Specific clinics are currently seeking qualified candidates:

  • Hematology Oncology
  • Women's Health
  • Vascular Surgery
  • Orthopedic Total Joint
  • Pediatric Surgery/Urology
  • Urgent Care (36 hours per week)

Sign-On Bonus:

External applicants who have not been employed by the University of Vermont Health Network in the past year may qualify for a one-time sign-on bonus of $2,000, distributed as follows: $500 after 90 days and $1,500 after one year of service.

Key Responsibilities:

The Medical Assistant will assist in various daily activities at the clinical site, ensuring an efficient patient flow and providing necessary support to patients and their families. This includes:

  • Performing basic clinical tasks and assisting with advanced clinical procedures.
  • Facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation.

Qualifications:

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Vocational training in a relevant field is preferred. CPR certification is mandatory.

Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in direct patient care is required for the MA II level. Candidates for the MA I level should have prior healthcare experience.
