About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Front Desk Agent to join our team at Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants. As a Front Desk Agent, you will be the first point of contact for our guests and will be responsible for providing exceptional service and ensuring a seamless experience for all visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Registration and check-out of hotel guests
  • PBX operations, mail and message service
  • Providing outstanding service to guests, including responding to their needs and resolving any issues that may arise
  • Acting as an advocate for the hotel and developing relationships with guests to encourage repeat business
  • Reviewing arrivals and noting special requests, blocking rooms as needed
  • Checking in and out hotel guests in a confident, professional and friendly manner
  • Answering all phone calls promptly and knowledgeably, ensuring complete and accurate information
  • Completing all items on the appropriate checklist by the end of the shift
  • Conducting pre-assignment of hotel rooms, including VIPs, repeat guests, all packages, and any special requests
  • Following established key control policy
  • Ensuring proper credit policies are followed
  • Submitting all lost and found articles accompanied by a completed lost and found report
  • Familiar with all fire and emergency procedures
  • Opening, securing, and balancing the daily shift bank, including counting and verifying cash, check, and credit card transactions
  • Verifying credit limit report
  • Monitoring room availability throughout the day
  • Reviewing the daily selling status of the hotel using the yield management system
  • Attending department meetings once a month
  • Communicating via telephone and/or radio with other departments, including Reservations, Sales, Housekeeping, Bell Staff, and Valet
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Previous experience in a Front Desk or customer-facing role is preferred
  • Knowledgeable of the immediate area, services, attractions, and events
  • Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work well under pressure, dealing with many arrivals and departures within a short period of time
  • Familiar with hotel systems and operations, and the ability to enter information accurately
