Inventory Planner and Purchaser

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain accurate inventory forecasts and plans to meet business objectives.
  • Analyze historical data and current demand trends to identify opportunities and risks that impact inventory levels.
  • Optimize inventory levels to meet service level goals while minimizing excess inventory.
  • Establish and maintain target stock levels, safety stock, and surge stock levels.
  • Manage and follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely delivery from vendors.
  • Collaborate with the Operations and Inventory Control team to ensure accurate inventory levels.
  • Identify and propose actions to efficiently move through excess inventory and achieve maximum margin and cost recovery.
  • Support the Supply Chain Manager with day-to-day planning priorities and projects.
  • Utilize ERP systems and reporting tools to generate weekly supply chain reports.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Inventory Planning, or related field.
  • 3+ years' experience in inventory management and demand planning.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with Microsoft Access a plus.
  • Strong quantitative analytical skills and technical understanding of math and inventory management concepts.
  • Ability to summarize data logically and communicate information and recommendations clearly to all stakeholders.
