Logistics Operations Supervisor

We are a dynamic manufacturing firm initiating a logistics center operation. We seek a skilled Logistics Operations Supervisor to oversee the facility and manage a small team. This role typically operates during standard business hours, with some flexibility as the organization expands. This is an hourly non-exempt position, eligible for overtime.

Key Responsibilities of the Logistics Operations Supervisor:

  • Lead safe logistics operations, ensuring effective inventory management, timely deliveries, and general oversight of warehouse activities.
  • Make informed decisions aligned with company objectives.
  • Supervise all facility personnel and engage in planning and operational meetings.

Specific Duties:
  • Report directly to the CFO and collaborate with corporate operations to achieve performance metrics.
  • Oversee product distribution to customers and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
  • Manage facility employees regarding performance, coaching, and goal-setting.
  • Promote a safe working environment through training, safety awareness, and hazard identification.
  • Support safety protocols and maintenance procedures as necessary.
  • Operate industrial vehicles and equipment as required.
  • Handle product and materials manually as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies among all employees.
  • Utilize computer systems for inventory tracking and employee communication.
  • Complete administrative tasks and projects to ensure efficient facility operations.

Qualifications:
  • 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience in a logistics or distribution environment.
  • Familiarity with inventory tracking systems.
  • At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing or supervisory roles.
  • Strong people management skills and patience.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts as business demands change.
  • Reliability and good attendance record.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficient math skills for reading blueprints and using measuring tools.
  • Competent in computer usage for reporting and administrative tasks.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Physical Requirements:
This position involves working in a manufacturing and logistics environment, where temperatures may vary and noise levels can be high. The individual must be able to walk, bend, stoop, twist, turn, climb, and push/pull frequently. The role requires awareness of surroundings and the ability to lift 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally. Effective communication skills are essential, as the individual will need to read, follow, and provide written instructions to team members.
