Job Summary

The YMCA of the North is seeking a highly skilled Nutritionist to join our team. As a Nutritionist, you will be responsible for providing direct client service, assessing nutritional status, and providing recommendations and education to clients. You will work closely with other program areas to provide comprehensive service to clients and create a healing atmosphere that promotes whole-person wellbeing.

Essential Functions
  1. Meet with clients to assess nutritional status, create nutritional goals, and provide recommendations, including meal planning.
  2. Develop and teach nutrition curriculum within relevant areas of expertise.
  3. Deliver nutritional education programs using informational materials or referring to community resources.
  4. Collaborate with other program areas, team members, and community professionals to provide comprehensive health and wellbeing service.
  5. Maintain client records and charting.
  6. Administer, track, and evaluate health history questionnaires, nutritional assessments, and other pre-participation documentation.
  7. Promote and sell nutritional programs, services, and products while achieving monthly revenue and session goals.
  8. Maintain and enhance knowledge of current clinical practice, strategies, and developments.
  9. Represent the YMCA in the community, participating in public relations and promotional activities as needed.
  10. Actively refer clients to other integrative health and wellbeing disciplines within the wellbeing team.
  11. Develop and deliver engaging educational content and curriculum for both virtual and in-person mission delivery operations.
  12. Advise on nutrition and philosophy of whole-person wellbeing when establishing new culture, products, programs, and services.
  13. Assist with welcoming, scheduling, processing payment, and checking-in clients.
Relationships

This position reports to the Senior Director of Integrative Health and Wellbeing, who reports to the Vice President of Integrative Health and Wellbeing. You will interact with members and clients, responding to their needs and providing feedback in a professional manner.

Qualifications
  • Required: Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition or related field, current Nutritionist/Dietitian License/Registration in the State of Minnesota (or Wisconsin if applicable), experience counseling adults one-on-one and in group settings, experience developing and teaching nutrition curriculum, demonstrated customer service skills and verbal communication skills, ability to lead an individual or group and motivate others to achieve their health and wellbeing goals, ability to work with a diverse population and ability levels, ability to respond to safety and emergency situations, HIPAA Compliant, flexibility to travel and deliver services at multiple locations, and availability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Preferred: 2-5 years of experience in the holistic health and wellness field, Master's in functional or human nutrition, or Bachelor's of Science in nutrition accompanying a certification in functional medicine/nutrition, training in natural food culinary arts/natural foods chef.
Physical Demands

The ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.
