About the Position

This Accounts Payable/Receivable position at Volvo Cars Walnut Creek is a key role in our business office, responsible for processing all accounts payable transactions from receipt of invoice to payment, generating A/R statements for our dealerships, and generating associated journal entries.

As an ideal candidate, you will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently. You will also possess proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of accounting software.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Process invoices and payments with high accuracy, ensuring proper classification as expense or capitalizable item in accordance with our chart of accounts.
  2. Reconcile vendor statements and respond to vendor questions in a timely manner, building relationships and credibility with vendors.
  3. Assist with reconciliation of monthly travel credit card statements.
  4. Prepare daily cash sheet.
  5. Assist in General Ledger maintenance and reclasses.
  6. Support the annual 1099 process.
  7. Generate A/R statements for charges paid by the corporate office on behalf of the dealerships, gathering necessary support for those charges, and answering related dealership inquiries.
  8. Ensure necessary controls are in place to safeguard assets.
  9. Assist in training and supervising office staff.
  10. Ensure annual external audit requirements are met.
  11. Maintain effective employee relations.
  12. Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
  13. Participate in required training.
  14. Record all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system.
  15. Follow Safeguards rules and regulations.
  16. Comply with Company policies and procedures.
  17. Observe all Federal, State, Local, and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.
