Key Responsibilities:

As a Junior Tractor Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing maintenance services that meet the quality and volume standards set by Dayton Freight Lines.

  • Learn to execute basic maintenance and part replacement tasks through observation, assistance, and inquiry.
  • Support senior technicians as needed.
  • Develop skills in diagnosing and repairing various tractor components.
  • Acquire proficiency in conducting PM inspections and services effectively and efficiently.
  • Respond to service calls as required.
  • Carry out additional maintenance tasks or assignments as necessary.
  • Contribute actively to the upkeep of the shop, grounds, and all tools and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace that adheres to OSHA and company standards.
  • Record all work and labor accurately using the EMS system.
  • Collaborate with the Parts Department to ensure adequate inventory of materials, parts, and supplies.
  • Comply with EPA and DOT regulations as well as company safety protocols.
  • Continuously seek to improve processes.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid Driver's License.
  • Able to successfully pass a drug screening.
  • Fluent in English.
