Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Mental Health Worker to join our team at SCO Family of Services. As a key member of our treatment team, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to adolescents in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the admission process of new residents and maintain awareness of their emotional, physical, and spiritual needs.
  • Refer residents to other team members as needed to meet their needs.
  • Ensure residents are prepared for and attend scheduled appointments, including psychological, psychiatric, educational, and medical sessions.
  • Provide immediate intervention using therapeutic crisis intervention techniques to de-escalate potentially volatile situations.
  • Contribute to the formulation of treatment plans for each resident through written reports and team discussions.
  • Organize recreational activities to promote positive leisure experiences.
  • Ensure the daily care and cleanliness of living facilities.
  • Manage clothing, household supplies, and equipment.
  • Provide transportation for residents as approved.
  • Supervise personal hygiene routines.
  • Remain available for active listening to residents in line with their treatment goals.
  • Complete daily logs and reports as requested.
  • Follow proper procedures for reporting damage or needs in the physical plant and supplies.
  • Participate in in-services training, bi-monthly supervision, and outside conferences to advance professional development.
  • Promote positive values in residents, including integrity, dignity, self-control, and motivation for study and careers.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED, with two years of college preferred.
  • Acceptable clearance checks for State Central Register, Driver's license, and fingerprinting as required by the program.
  • Compliance with PPD clearances.
  • Current certification in CPR and demonstrated competency on an annual basis.
  • Successful completion of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training.
