Job Title: Resource Employee - Video Annotator

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Resource Employee - Video Annotator to join our interdisciplinary research team at the University of Southern California. The successful candidate will have prior experience as a law enforcement officer or public safety officer and be able to work independently for extended periods.

Job Summary:

The Resource Employee - Video Annotator will be responsible for viewing video footage and recording information about interactions between public servants and the public. This will involve focused evaluation of substantial amounts of video and audio data for extended periods, up to 8 hours per day. The annotator will work closely with our research team to develop tools to enhance transparency and accountability, and to improve our understanding of communication between public servants and the public.

Responsibilities:
  • View video footage and record information about interactions
  • Focused evaluation of substantial amounts of video and audio data for extended periods, up to 8 hours per day
  • Work independently for extended periods
  • Collaborate with the research team to develop tools to enhance transparency and accountability
Requirements:
  • Prior experience as a law enforcement officer or public safety officer
  • Ability to work independently for extended periods
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficiency in basic computer software, such as Microsoft Word
