The Client Intake Specialist operates from our Wheaton Office and oversees the comprehensive registration and admission processes for Northeast Family Services. This role entails managing incoming inquiries, collecting referral details, confirming insurance coverage, and coordinating client appointments.
Success in the Client Intake Specialist role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with insurance systems, co-pays, deductibles, and health benefit structures. Ideal candidates will possess outstanding interpersonal abilities and thrive in a collaborative environment alongside therapists, clinicians, nurse practitioners, and peers. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly advantageous.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory
- At least 2 years of experience in patient intake and scheduling is required
- Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred
- Understanding of insurance benefits and authorization processes
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records (EHR)
- Experience in supporting clients with co-occurring disorders
- Ability to maintain confidentiality for clients and the organization
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving capabilities, particularly under pressure
- Strong time management and organizational skills
