Job Title: Intake Coordinator

Northeast Family Services of Illinois is a leading provider of therapy services, seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Intake Coordinator to join our team in Wheaton.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the registration and admissions process, including answering incoming calls, gathering referral information, verifying insurance coverage, and scheduling clients' appointments.

To excel in this role, you will need to possess excellent interpersonal skills, a working knowledge of payer portals, co-pays, deductibles, and health insurance benefits, as well as the ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage patient registration and admissions process
  • Answer incoming calls and gather referral information
  • Verify insurance coverage and schedule appointments
  • Work effectively with therapists, clinicians, nurse practitioners, and peers
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in patient intake and scheduling
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Working knowledge of insurance benefits and authorizations
  • Proficient computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records (EHR)
