About the Associate, Volunteer Recruitment

The Volunteer Recruitment Associate (VRA) plays a critical role in mobilizing high-quality, culturally competent volunteers to make programming possible and impactful. This role is responsible for developing and executing reliable volunteer recruitment and onboarding strategies, creating meaningful volunteer experiences, and managing volunteer logistics and communications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute volunteer outreach strategies based on project needs and time frames.
  • Run Salesforce reports to identify suitable volunteers and conduct targeted outreach.
  • Coordinate external recruitment tools and update information on those platforms.
  • Deliver presentations on New York Cares volunteer experiences and opportunities.
Meaningful Volunteer Experiences
  • Manage all logistics related to volunteer onboarding, including background checks, certification verification, and confidentiality agreements.
  • Ensure volunteers are well-prepared to participate and supported in their projects through programmatic and cause area training.
  • Troubleshoot volunteer concerns and offer solutions and options for safe and productive participation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Manage logistics and communications for project cancellations or changes in volunteer requirements.
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure accurate and engaging information on programming needs.
  • Coordinate with the Volunteer Events team to recruit volunteers for large-scale signature events.
Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of engagement and mobilization methods to build meaningful experiences among volunteers and community partners.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; Spanish language fluency is a plus.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams and communities.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to accurately track and manage large amounts of data.
  • Eagerness to develop skills in data software and focus on solutions and impact.
  • Innovative and creative, with the ability to design new recruitment campaigns and strategies.
Compensation

The salary for this role is $62,400. New York Cares offers a comprehensive total compensation package, including generous paid leave, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, access to e-learning courses, and tax advantage accounts.
