Job Description

New York Common Pantry is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Volunteer Programs Manager to lead our volunteer engagement efforts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to recruit, retain, and recognize volunteers, ensuring a positive and impactful experience for all.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive volunteer recruitment plan, targeting diverse populations and corporate partners.
  • Manage volunteer databases, tracking volunteer hours, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Coordinate volunteer orientations, training, and recognition events, ensuring a seamless experience for volunteers.
  • Collaborate with program staff to identify volunteer needs and develop strategies to meet those needs.
  • Supervise the Volunteer Program Associate, providing guidance and support to ensure successful program implementation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with corporate partners, community groups, and other stakeholders to secure volunteer support.
  • Plan and execute special projects, including volunteer appreciation events and in-kind donation drives.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; experience managing volunteer programs preferred.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of computer software, including MS Office, social media, and fundraising/CRM database software.

New York Common Pantry offers a competitive salary range of $67,000 - $75,000, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 403(b) retirement account, and paid time off.
