Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Customer Technical Specialist to join our team at Peraton. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional technical support to our customers, ensuring their IT infrastructure is running smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

As a Customer Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing technical support for a variety of technologies, including Cisco switches, fiber backbone, network interconnectivity, desktops/laptops, tablets, local/network printers/scanners, peripherals, network devices, communication devices, electronic time and attendance systems, and transportation security equipment.
  • Scheduling and coordinating customer desk-side support for the installation of new software or to perform hardware or software break/fix activities.
  • Setting up and configuring new end-user equipment, including laptops, mobile devices, printers, VTC units, VoIP phones, and other peripherals.
  • Documenting all changes in the ticketing system to ensure all asset and configuration information is up to date.
  • Investigating and resolving all connectivity issues related to end-user, site infrastructure, and STIP IT equipment.
  • Executing and maintaining IT infrastructure inventory information, completing regularly scheduled inventories of all IT cabinets and IT cabinet equipment, updating pictures, drawings, and asset information.
  • Recommending through Peraton management customer service and IT process support enhancements, researching and recommending new technologies and procedures.
  • Providing technical guidance for directing and monitoring information systems operations.


Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree and 0 years' experience or an associate's degree and 2 years' experience or a high school diploma/equivalent and 4 years' relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship, with the ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearance.
  • Experience with desk-side IT support and the ability to communicate in a professional manner with senior executive government staff.
  • Experience supporting a variety of IT technologies, including laptops, mobile devices, and Cisco switches.
  • Understanding of fiber backbone interconnectivity.
  • The ability to work on your feet for 4+ hours per day, walking long distances through airports and offices to support customer equipment.
  • The ability to kneel, bend, and reach to get under desks to connect/repair cabling and the ability to lift up to 40-50 pounds to install IT equipment.
  • The ability to push/pull carts transporting equipment.

Target Salary Range

$39,000 - $62,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
