Caterpillar is currently seeking candidates for Technician I roles within our Reman Drivetrain division. As a Technician, you will utilize various tools and equipment to assemble and disassemble our primary products. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Accurately utilizing data collection systems.
  • Performing basic assembly and disassembly tasks effectively.
  • Employing blueprints, gauges, torque measuring devices, and other equipment to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Using precision measuring tools to assemble and disassemble final products efficiently.
  • Interpreting blueprints accurately.
  • Conducting preventive maintenance.
  • Assisting in identifying issues and initiating corrective actions.
  • Conducting 5S Audits.
  • Performing Safety Stop Audits observations.
  • Participating in Continuous Improvement/Process Improvement initiatives.
  • Completing any assigned duties to promote cross-training or support various shop areas.
  • Following Caterpillar Production System (CPS) Standard Work Sheets.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Self-motivated and proactive attitude.
  • Capability to address problems and adapt to changing situations.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A proven record of reliable attendance.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand as necessary to perform essential job functions.
  • Willingness to walk and/or travel to different areas of the facility as required.
  • Proficiency in using a keyboard, reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, and lifting and filing documents throughout the day.
  • Ability to safely execute repetitive motions.
  • Capacity to lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly.
  • Visual and auditory capabilities suitable for the safe execution of job duties.
  • Physical exertion and effort to safely lift, push, or pull components or parts.

Compensation & Benefits Offered:

  • Hourly Pay Range: $25.73 (salary negotiations based on skills and experience).
  • 1st shift Work Hours: 6 AM - 4:30 PM.
  • 2nd shift Work Hours: 4:15 PM - 2:45 AM (additional 7% night shift premium for 2nd shift).
  • Monday - Thursday with occasional overtime on Fridays.
  • $2,000 sign-on bonus, with payouts based on performance and attendance.
  • 40-hour work weeks with potential for overtime.
  • 80 hours of vacation plus an additional 24 hours of paid Personal Time Off (PTO).
  • 10 Paid holidays.
  • 100% 401k match up to 6% offered from day one of employment.
