Job Summary:

As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in the surgical team, assisting in the care of patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. Your responsibilities will include preparing for surgeries, maintaining patient safety and confidentiality, complying with legal regulations, and participating in quality improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare necessary supplies and instruments for surgical procedures, ensuring aseptic techniques are followed.
  • Set up the Operating Room for cases and assist during procedures, maintaining a safe and efficient environment.
  • Maintain accurate counts of instruments, handle specimens, drugs, and solutions, and ensure proper disposal of waste.
  • Clean and prepare rooms between procedures, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care.

Requirements:

Diploma in Surgical Technology or equivalent experience required. CST - Surgical Technologist certification with NBSTSA or NCCT certification accepted under specific conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

Basic computer skills, knowledge of office equipment, and completion of mandatory education and certification requirements.

Work Environment:

This is a non-management position reporting to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. The work environment is fast-paced and requires strong communication and teamwork skills.
