We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at the Medical University of South Carolina. As a key member of our operating room team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain a sterile environment for surgical procedures, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
- Assist surgeons and other medical staff during procedures, providing support and maintaining a safe and efficient workflow.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills required to provide care and/or service appropriate to the level of development of patients, with consideration of the needs of patients' families.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in surgical technology.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; graduation from an accredited school of surgical technology or surgical technology military program preferred.
- At least two years of work experience as a Certified Surgical Tech required; completion of all CST III career ladder requirements is required.
- Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) required.
- A current CPR card is required; either an American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers card or an American Red Cross Professional Rescuer card required.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to surgical procedures and patient care. The successful candidate will be able to maintain a high level of concentration and attention to detail, while working effectively as part of a team.
