Cynet Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in Columbia, SC. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Instrument Handling and Preparation: Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures, ensuring they are properly cleaned, sterilized, and stored.
- Procedure Support: Understand the procedure being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeon, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.
- Quality Patient Care: Ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure, maintaining a sterile field and vigilantly monitoring for any potential issues.
- Supply and Equipment Management: Check supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures, ensuring they are available and in good working condition.
- Pre-Operative Preparation: Scrub, gown up, and glove up, setting up the sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for the procedure.
- Counting and Verification: Perform appropriate counts with the circulator prior to the operation and before incision closure, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Surgeon and Assistant Support: Gown and glove the surgeon and assistants, helping to maintain a sterile environment.
- Room Preparation: Assist in prepping the room for the next patient, ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
- Education and Certification: Surgical technologists must graduate from a surgical technology program accredited by the Accreditation Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) or the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
- Experience and Certification: Current and active certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is required, along with a minimum of one year of surgical tech experience.
