Position Summary:

Bauer Foundation Corp. is seeking a Lead Accounting Specialist to support accounts payable operations, general ledger reconciliations, weekly financial reporting, and other accounting duties. This role is ideal for self-motivated individuals who are detail-oriented and thrive in diverse accounting environments.

The Lead Accounting Specialist will report directly to the Corporate Controller and will be responsible for managing the general ledger, job cost accounting, profitability assessments, and various special projects as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the general ledger for monthly closing and reporting cycles, including the preparation of all period-end journal entries.
  • Ability to generate financial statements is advantageous.
  • Manage fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, disposal, and depreciation.
  • Record pay applications and monitor accounts receivable.
  • Maintain bank accounts, including daily cash activity, monthly transactions, and monthly reconciliations.
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and year-end reconciliations, ensuring sub-ledgers align with the general ledger.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with project teams to address job cost inquiries.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process enhancements for information flow, month-end closing, project accounting, and management reporting.
  • Prepare sales and property tax submissions.
  • Conduct financial and profitability analyses as needed.
  • Become the in-house expert on SAP Business One.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a job costing environment, preferably within the heavy construction sector.
  • Familiarity with job cost accounting principles.
  • Experience with SAP Business One is preferred.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
