Position Overview:

Bauer Foundation Corp. is seeking a Lead Accounting Specialist to support accounts payable operations, general ledger reconciliations, weekly financial reporting, and various accounting tasks. This role is ideal for highly motivated, self-driven individuals who are detail-oriented and thrive in diverse accounting environments.

The Lead Accounting Specialist will report directly to the Corporate Controller and will be responsible for managing the general ledger, job cost accounting, profitability assessments, and other special projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee the general ledger for monthly closing and reporting cycles, including the preparation of all period-end journal entries.

2. The capability to generate financial statements is a valuable asset.

3. Manage fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, disposal, and depreciation.

4. Record pay applications and monitor accounts receivable.

5. Maintain bank accounts, documenting daily cash activities, monthly transactions, and conducting monthly bank reconciliations.

6. Conduct monthly, quarterly, and year-end reconciliations, ensuring sub-ledgers align with the general ledger.

7. Investigate and resolve discrepancies.

8. Collaborate with project teams to address job cost inquiries.

9. Identify, recommend, and implement process enhancements for information flow, month-end closing, project accounting, and management reporting.

10. Prepare sales and property tax submissions.

11. Conduct additional financial and profitability analyses as required.

12. Become the in-house expert on SAP Business One.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

- Strong interpersonal skills to maintain effective relationships with vendors and internal staff.

- Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.

- Capacity to uphold confidentiality regarding company and partner information.

- Proficient mathematical skills.

- Experience with accounting software and online platforms.

Education and Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a job costing environment, preferably within the heavy construction sector.

- Familiarity with job cost accounting principles.

- Experience with SAP Business One is preferred.

- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting tight deadlines.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.

- Well-developed communication and interpersonal abilities.
