Role Summary
The Adhesives Quality Assurance Manager will lead quality oversight for all products produced at our adhesives facility. This role encompasses the daily management of quality-related activities, including investigating non-conformances and customer feedback, managing deviations, and ensuring operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide quality support for the production and assessment of Steel Partners products.
- Collaborate with plant leadership to ensure compliance with all quality standards and specifications.
- Facilitate timely resolutions for deviations, corrective actions, customer complaints, and investigations.
- Develop and maintain internal quality systems, including training, auditing, document control, and quality plans.
- Oversee raw material qualifications, technology transfers, product scale-ups, and equipment validations.
- Lead investigations into non-conformances and recommend corrective actions based on root cause analysis.
- Participate in new product development to ensure quality issues are addressed and control activities are established.
- Support manufacturing and engineering in quality improvement initiatives, including statistical process control and sampling plans.
- Monitor manufacturing quality trends and collaborate with leadership to implement improvements.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance quality systems and manufacturing processes.
- Supervise and mentor plant quality resources to achieve peak performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in leading quality improvement initiatives.
- Advanced knowledge of quality methodologies and systems, including statistics and auditing.
- Preferred certifications: LSS and ASQ.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and statistical software (Minitab).
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong judgment, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments effectively.
- Demonstrated leadership and conflict management abilities.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with a proactive approach to follow-up.
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform physical tasks, including walking, standing, kneeling, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Must be capable of completing all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
