Job Title: OB Sonographer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced OB Sonographer to join our team at Denver Health. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound examinations and providing exceptional patient care.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of a radiologist, you will perform ultrasound examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Your duties will include selecting specific software parameters to produce high-quality images, operating ultrasound equipment to record images of blood, organs, tissues, and bodily masses, and observing equipment monitors to ensure diagnostic-quality images.

Essential Functions:
  • Perform high-quality ultrasound imaging studies by selecting appropriate software parameters and adjusting equipment settings to produce diagnostic-quality images.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to record images of blood, organs, tissues, and bodily masses, and observe equipment monitors to ensure diagnostic-quality images.
  • Verify physician orders and relevant patient history in the medical chart, and consult with radiologists to obtain written imaging study protocols.
  • Document all pertinent information on clinical questionnaires, scan relevant clinical information into the PACS, and assign prioritization boxes for radiologists' work lists.
  • Assist in maintaining department inventory by ordering, stocking, and performing inventory checks on medical supplies used during ultrasound examinations.
  • Maintain imaging and processing equipment by performing scheduled cleanings and tests, documenting results, and contacting service personnel and supervisory staff of equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly working environment by wiping down examination tables, changing linens, stocking supplies, and washing/disinfecting ultrasound equipment.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree completion of a two-year hospital or college echocardiography program accredited by the American Medical Association.
  • RDMS-Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - ARDMS - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (preferred).
  • Preferred experience performing high-risk (level II) OB ultrasound exams, two years' experience performing OB and GYN ultrasound exams, and experience with screening echoes.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association (required).
  • RDMS-Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - ARDMS - American Registry in OB/GYN Ultrasound (required).
