Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce high-quality ultrasound images and obtain accurate measurements for each examination.
  • Recognize the sonographic appearance of normal and abnormal tissue structures and provide optimal image quality for documentation.
  • Document all relevant patient and procedure data consistently and accurately.
  • Obtain and evaluate pertinent patient history and physical findings that may impact the sonographic examination.
  • Explain procedures clearly to patients to ensure maximum comfort and cooperation.
  • Monitor patients during all phases of the procedure, prioritizing their emotional and physical well-being.
  • Communicate patient information professionally and courteously to patients and referring physician offices as required.
  • Maintain the ultrasound equipment for cleanliness and ensure proper equipment maintenance and safety.
  • Calibrate and maintain equipment, ordering supplies as needed.
  • Schedule and coordinate tests.
  • Prepare and maintain operational logs.
  • Assist with Quality Assurance/Improvements audits and activities as required.
Requirements
  • ARRT Registry or ARDMS Registry.
  • The ARDMS must include successful completion of one registry pertinent to the department beyond physics (options include OB, abdominal, neuro, breast, and vascular).
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification, issued by American Heart Association.
  • Ultrasound experience, preferred.
