About the Role

This Sales Engineer position is a key role in the American Cast Iron Pipe (AMERICAN) team, specializing in the company's product line for the water industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing the market in their assigned territory, building strong relationships with clients, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Successfully complete the 15-week sales training program at AMERICAN headquarters in Birmingham, AL
  • Relocate to a designated Sales Division territory to accommodate business needs
  • Pre and post-bid management within the territory
  • Establish and develop long-term relationships with owners, engineers, contractors, and distributors
  • Manage distributor sales force, including price, conflict resolutions, relationship building, product training, and sales force training
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Willing and able to travel a minimum of 75% of the time
  • Willing to transfer within the U.S. and/or within the Sales Division
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications for projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience utilizing Microsoft Office software
  • Valid driver's license
