This position entails managing a portfolio of clients, assessing their unique needs and risks, and assisting them in developing a tailored insurance strategy that meets their specific requirements.
The role requires a thorough understanding of the client's risk profile and effectively communicating those needs to the relevant insurance carriers.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Leadership and Business Partners to independently execute daily tasks essential for managing client service requirements, which may include but are not limited to:
- Oversee an assigned portfolio of clients.
- Prepare and process various documentation such as Evidence of Insurance, Binders, Agent of Record Letters, Lost Policy Release Letters, and Auto ID cards.
- Process carrier downloads for managed accounts.
- Market, underwrite, and quote new and renewal business; negotiate coverage and pricing with insurance carriers.
- Expand client accounts by proposing additional lines of insurance; maintain awareness of clients' needs through regular interactions.
- Adhere to the renewal process, ensuring timely and appropriate actions are taken.
- Request and process changes from carriers, updating systems and setting follow-up activities.
- Ensure accuracy of account information, including coverage schedules and policy endorsements.
- Provide advanced claims consulting; analyze exposure and alternatives, and maintain communication with clients throughout the claims process.
- Demonstrate enhanced negotiation skills, critical thinking, and professional communication with both clients and carrier partners.
- Follow established agency protocols and actively contribute to refining processes.
Required Skills:
Ability to develop a comprehensive understanding of personal lines coverages and claims processing, applying this knowledge effectively in job duties.
Strong analytical skills to interpret coverages, forms, and policies, ensuring compliance with necessary provisions.
Professional judgment in assessing coverage requirements and resolving insurance-related issues.
Ability to cultivate and maintain effective relationships with clients.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients and company personnel.
Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Familiarity with software applications such as Sagitta, Word, and Excel.
Basic mathematical skills for performing calculations.
Willingness to assist with other work-related tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
Active state-specific Property Casualty Insurance agent's license is mandatory or the ability to obtain one within three months of employment.
Technical designations such as CISR or PRMA are encouraged, along with other industry-related education approved by Holmes Murphy & Associates, Inc.Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in personal lines on the agency side or equivalent experience on the carrier side.
