Role Summary

  • Implement Cybersecurity strategies that safeguard Southwest Airlines. Collaborate within a dedicated team following Agile methodologies. Develop and enhance solutions deployed in AWS while utilizing an evolving common platform. Expect a blend of Enterprise integration and platform innovation.

  • This position is offered as a remote work opportunity, which may involve travel for training, meetings, conferences, etc. While the majority of your work can be conducted remotely, certain states or localities may be ineligible for off-site work.

  • Key Responsibilities
    • Provide security guidance to application and Partner Teams to address security vulnerabilities, risk factors, and policy exceptions.
    • Conduct training sessions for clients on utilizing key Cybersecurity systems and automated environments.
    • Identify Cybersecurity challenges, devise solutions, recommend software and systems, and coordinate developments to meet business needs.
    • Act as a change agent to implement the latest Cybersecurity standards and practices.
    • Serve as an enterprise subject matter expert (SME) and advocate for IT Security standards and reference architectures.
    • Mentor both Co-Hearts in Cybersecurity and Partner Teams.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and develop business cases for necessary changes.
    • Lead the team in identifying optimal solutions while fostering innovative thinking.
    • Oversee immediate responses and maintenance of production program issues.
    • Collaborate with production testers to identify defects and complete testing.
    • May perform other job duties as assigned by Leadership.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Proficient in Agile best practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Experienced in one or more cloud computing technologies, particularly AWS.
    • Skilled in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) development (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar) and automated configuration management (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or similar).
    • Experienced in implementing Cybersecurity-specific Integration Tests involving Identity, Security Policy, and Cryptography.
    • Familiar with performance, logging, and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, ELK Stack, AppD, and their integration into platform tools like AWS CloudWatch.
    • Knowledgeable in credential management tools and solutions like AWS Secrets Manager, CyberArk, or Hashicorp Vault.
    • Capable of creating parameterized build jobs for Continuous Integration of Security and environmental variables.
    • Familiar with existing elements in the value pipeline, such as PingFederate, eDirectory, Active Directory, CyberArk, or Micro Focus IDM.
    • Proficient in one or more scripting and development languages such as Python, Go, or JavaScript.
    • Exhibit excellent communication, collaboration, organization, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
  • Education
    • Required: High School Diploma or GED.
    • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field; or equivalent formal training.
  • Experience
    • Required: Advanced-level experience with specialized knowledge in developing, implementing, or integrating technologies for Enterprise security.

  • Physical Abilities
    • Ability to perform work duties from a limited space work station/desk/office area for extended periods.
    • Ability to communicate and interact with others in English to meet job demands.
    • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet job requirements.
  • Other Qualifications
    • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards.
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age.
    • Must comply with Company attendance standards.

Compensation & Benefits:

Competitive salary ranging from $153,800 to $160,200 annually, based on qualifications and experience. Additional bonus opportunities may be available for eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles at the company's discretion.
