Job Overview:

A world-class technology solutions provider, Apex Systems, is seeking a seasoned Software Engineering Manager to lead multiple software development teams. This individual will be responsible for managing client relationships, overseeing the analysis, configuration, development, implementation, and support of software applications for various business lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple software development teams, including supervisors, software architects, application analysts, and developers.
  • Lead client relationship management for one or more business sponsors.
  • Oversee the analysis, configuration, development, implementation, and support of software applications.
  • Develop and deliver executive-level presentations to business and IT leadership on portfolio and technology topics.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to drive engagement, manage risks, and ensure success.
  • Responsible for team processes to increase efficiency and develop, measure, and interpret statistics that serve as team performance indicators.
  • Propose changes to technology and process and bring new ideas and efforts to reality.
  • Directly responsible for a team of employees and contractors, including hiring, firing, coaching, mentoring, training, and discipline.
  • Maintain a positive work environment and a sustainable work pace that does not compromise on standards and quality.
  • Set the example and expectations for team conduct, inspire positive behavior and interactions, and mentor and support the professional, technical, and personal growth of team members.
  • Lead efforts to monitor, evaluate, and remediate security and compliance needs for corporate and casino websites.
  • Plan for the migration of these sites to necessary platforms to ensure compliance with company standards.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience managing the development and support of high-volume/high-traffic applications.
  • 8+ years of experience directly managing people and leaders.
  • 5+ years of experience working with automated testing.
  • 3+ years of experience managing an agile development team.
  • Experience with managing multi-million-dollar budgets across multiple business owners and managing the accounting of spend and forecasts.
  • Solid understanding of IT operations, including support and project processes, as well as common issues.
  • Significant experience working in an e-commerce environment and involvement in gathering requirements and delivering high-level technical features for the business.
  • Organizational Change Management as it relates to IT projects and processes.
  • Experience with the RFP process, vendor contracts, and vendor management.
  • Experience delivering compliant and secure applications (ADA, PII, PCI, etc.).
  • Experience creating IT strategies and creative problem-solving.
  • Extensive knowledge of Agile development practices as well as software development practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP or Agile certifications.
  • Education: BA or BS degree in Computer Science or related field required. Master's degree in Technology or related field desired.
