Position Overview

The Vehicle Systems Division (VSD) leads the charge in research and development, specializing in vehicle engineering, robotics, fluid dynamics, propulsion, orbital mechanics, and more. The Engineering Specialist/Senior Engineering Specialist - Multi-Disciplinary Engineering role within the Vehicle Engineering Department is focused on supporting spacecraft programs, overseeing project management, and engaging in spacecraft hardware engineering, particularly concerning vehicle interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver spacecraft engineering assistance for AI&T, project management, and spacecraft engineering
  • Oversee multidisciplinary acquisition, design, and testing processes for space vehicles
  • Identify and address risks and challenges related to satellites and subsystems
  • Coordinate Vehicle Engineering's contributions to East Coast Labs and Vehicle Autonomy Lab
  • Support business development and expansion of the customer base
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and contractors

Qualifications for Success

  • A Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline is mandatory
  • A minimum of eight years of professional experience in mechanical design, spacecraft engineering, or related fields
  • Proven success in systems engineering and project management
  • Experience in leading small teams and coordinating technical efforts
  • Strategic thinking and results-oriented mindset
  • An active Top Secret/SCI security clearance is essential

Preferred Qualifications

  • An advanced degree in a STEM field is advantageous
  • Experience in electrical integration and testing, power systems, or test hardware/software is desirable
  • Familiarity with satellite testing standards and government space acquisition policies is a plus
