Job Summary:

KBR is seeking a skilled Space Vehicle Systems Engineer to join the SSPO Vehicle Engineering Branch (VEB) team. This role involves providing support for spacecraft procurement activities, from the initial concept to the final delivery of the space vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the customer as needed, ensuring timely and effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Advise on space vehicle equipment development and testing, leveraging expertise in system engineering and technical surveillance.
  • Identify and mitigate technical, financial, and schedule risks, collaborating with the Vehicle Branch chief and government/contractor team.
  • Provide feedback on program status, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with Government Points of Contact (GPOCs) on routine actions, fostering strong relationships and effective communication.
  • Review and coordinate changes to spacecraft specifications, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews and program management meetings, contributing to the development of space vehicle systems.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with contractors and other experts, leveraging expertise in acquisition and program management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and at least seven years of space vehicle systems engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of DOD/IC satellite systems, including system design, development, and testing.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with experience in managing cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in acquisition and program management, with a focus on spacecraft procurement and system engineering.
  • Understanding of DOD/IC mission payloads, including system design and integration.
  • Proficiency in requirements management, with experience in developing and maintaining system requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with government and contractor stakeholders.
  • Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph clearance, with a strong understanding of security protocols and procedures.
