This position entails offering assistance for spacecraft acquisition processes, spanning from the preliminary design phase to the ultimate delivery of the space vehicle. The engineer will collaborate closely with the Vehicle Branch chief and play a significant role in Space Vehicle System Engineering (SVSE) for the spacecraft. Key duties focus on system engineering, contract technical oversight, and programmatic management to guarantee the successful execution of space vehicle systems, in partnership with a government/contractor team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide necessary support to the customer
  • Advise on the development and testing of space vehicle components
  • Identify and address technical, financial, and scheduling risks
  • Offer insights on program progress
  • Engage with Government Points of Contact (GPOCs) on routine matters
  • Review and coordinate modifications to spacecraft specifications
  • Participate in design evaluations and program management discussions
  • Establish and nurture relationships with contractors and other specialists

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of seven years of experience in space vehicle systems engineering
  • Familiarity with DOD/IC satellite systems
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities
  • Experience in acquisition and program oversight
  • Understanding of DOD/IC mission payloads
  • Expertise in requirements management
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph clearance
