Job Summary

The Metropolitan Opera seeks a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Assistant - Employee Relations to join our team. As the first point of contact for employees and managers, you will be responsible for resolving conflicts, issuing discipline, and maintaining clear records of all disciplinary processes.

This role will work closely with our labor relations department and training department to ensure effective conflict resolution and employee development. If you have a strong background in employee relations and conflict resolution, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, we encourage you to apply.

Salary: $62,500 per year

About the Role

As a Human Resources Assistant - Employee Relations, you will be responsible for:

  • Investigating grievances and complaints
  • Conducting workplace investigations
  • Issuing discipline and coaching employees
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Collaborating with management to address employee performance issues

You will also have the opportunity to develop and deliver training programs on topics such as conflict resolution, anti-harassment policies, and effective communication.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience in employee relations and conflict resolution
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to use good judgment in assessing situations involving conflict
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
