Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Puerto Rican Cultural Center (PRCC) is in search of a dedicated professional to fill the role of Public Health Initiatives Coordinator. This position focuses on providing HIV testing and counseling, navigating PrEP services, and delivering health education as part of our Vida/SIDA initiative. The role is full-time with adaptable hours to meet the needs of the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct HIV testing and offer counseling to clients
  • Educate and assist eligible individuals in accessing PrEP
  • Provide information on HIV prevention and referral services
  • Manage inventory and orders for testing materials
  • Disseminate safer sex resources and information
  • Facilitate educational workshops on safe sexual practices and skills
  • Engage in outreach efforts to identify and attract clients
  • Participate in health fairs, conferences, and community events
  • Ensure client confidentiality and adherence to relevant regulations
  • Contribute to organizational activities and events

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in HIV counseling and testing
  • Awareness and sensitivity to cultural diversity
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Capability to work autonomously with a focus on achieving objectives
  • Preferred fluency in both English and Spanish
  • Certification in HIV counseling, testing services, and phlebotomy
  • High school diploma or GED with relevant experience

Work Environment:

Exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues may occur.

Employment Type: Full Time

Salary: $45,000
