POSITION OVERVIEW

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for executing a variety of duties related to the evaluation, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical systems. This role encompasses preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of industrial equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts maintenance tasks on mechanical systems throughout the facility.
  • Collaborates with contractors to ensure quality standards and productivity levels are met.
  • Engages in formal and on-the-job training to enhance both technical and non-technical skills; participates in cross-training initiatives.
  • Regularly interacts with Process Area teams to exchange information and resolve issues.
  • Assists in preventive maintenance and repairs on machinery. Performs servicing and lubrication of equipment as necessary.
  • Proposes initiatives aimed at cost reduction and productivity enhancement. Takes proactive measures to address issues when necessary.
  • Utilizes skills and performs tasks in other assigned roles as needed.
  • Adheres to a rotating shift schedule and works weekends as required.
  • Provides support to other plant operations as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Required: High School diploma or GED

Preferred Education: Completion of two years at a technical college in a relevant field.

Experience Required: 2-4 years of industrial experience as a millwright is essential. Experience in gearbox rebuilding, shaft alignment on heavy machinery, and bearing installation is preferred.

Additional Experience: Familiarity with vibration analysis is a plus.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of cement plant operations or a similar heavy industrial environment is advantageous.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work settings. Promotes a culture of safety and exhibits these behaviors consistently.
  • Successful candidates must comply with all safety protocols and properly utilize Holcim-approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators. Employees required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to pass fit tests.
