Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Hood Technician to join our team at Summit Fire & Security. As a Hood Technician, you will be responsible for cleaning the grease off the cooking exhaust systems of commercial kitchens and supervising functions relating to crews.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work after hours once facilities are closed, in and outside
  • Interact professionally with restaurant management and staff, and be honest and trustworthy
  • Perform inspections, clean up, and maintenance
  • Take photos of work
  • Drive to and from job to shop
  • Fulfill paperwork requirements
  • Keep truck and machine in working condition
  • Clean kitchen exhaust systems, including fans, roof, filters, and working safely with ladders and chemicals
  • Arrive at pre-scheduled appointments on time
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required
  • Leadership skills, ability to motivate, provide direction, required
  • Light mechanical ability, preferred
  • Work with hand/power tools
  • Demonstrate critical/safety forward thinking skills
  • Collaborate and work with all levels of employees
  • Strong diligence and accuracy
  • Ability to effectively read, write, and communicate in English with employees and customers
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required
  • Comply with SFS's Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to bend, ascend and descend step stools, ladders and stairs, kneel, lift 60lbs, sit, stoop, twist, and work at heights.

Employees will regularly be required to work outside, and be exposed to hot/cold temperatures, dust, fumes, chemicals, electrical hazards, and noise. Employee will occasionally be required to work indoors in an office setting, work alone and with others. Employee must consistently wear all appropriate personal protective equipment, as required by company safety policies while visiting locations.
