Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Millwright Mechanical Helper to join our team at TIC - The Industrial Company. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for planning, laying out, installing, and aligning equipment and machinery in accordance with all plans, specifications, tolerances, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and diagram layouts for millwright's work, ensuring accurate measurements and alignments.
  • Use hand and power tools to assemble, install, and align machinery, as well as mix and place grout.
  • Verify inventory of equipment/machine components, check accuracy of line and grade of existing foundations, and prepare foundations for grouting and/or machinery placement.
  • Properly torque equipment and machinery, rig equipment and machinery, and direct crane operators on placement.
  • Test installed machinery and equipment, making necessary adjustments and repairs.
  • Assemble and install equipment, align machines and equipment, and assemble machines and attach them to foundations or other structures according to project specifications.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent with previous experience in the field or a related area.
  • Working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions, and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.
Work Environment

This position requires constant movement around a construction/industrial site, with the ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. You will work in a construction environment, exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions, and may be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas. You must be able to move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces, and complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment.
