Job Title: Ultrasonic Testing Specialist

Reports to: Mill Supervisor

Role Objective

The Ultrasonic Testing Specialist is tasked with the operation and facilitation of ultrasonic testing procedures for pipe materials, adhering to established plant protocols. The primary aim is to uphold a secure and compliant working environment throughout shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate in-line ultrasonic inspection apparatus on a daily basis
  • Document and report any non-conformities and quality concerns
  • Assist in troubleshooting quality-related issues
  • Conduct daily validations on materials that have been rejected
  • Ensure adherence to relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and industry regulations
  • Perform inspections to identify discontinuities utilizing ultrasonic technology
  • Accurately manage documentation and test outcomes
  • Detect and report defects in materials
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • High School Diploma is preferred
  • Certification in Level 1 or Level 2 Ultrasonic Testing is mandatory
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Preferred experience of 2 years in Quality Control
  • Mechanical aptitude is advantageous
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is essential
Physical Demands & Work Environment

The working conditions are standard for a manufacturing setting. Candidates should be prepared to stand for prolonged periods, lift heavy materials, and operate in varying weather conditions while equipped with the necessary protective gear.

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the Mill Supervisor.
