Position Overview


The HVAC Service Sales Representative plays a vital role in driving the growth and profitability of the HVAC Service division. The selected individual will be tasked with initiating, establishing, and nurturing profitable service relationships with new clients for Johnson Controls.

The primary focus will be on promoting renewable maintenance agreements as the foundational element for these relationships.

The representative will operate within a designated geographic area, collaborating with a local branch office and partnering with sales and operations professionals in the branch.

Utilizing sales tools to plan and document sales progress is essential, as is the expectation to secure and finalize business on a monthly basis.

Key Responsibilities


Employ a disciplined and professional approach to identify, target, and qualify potential new clients; leverage market conditions and network effectively to discover new leads and contacts.

Engage with prospective clients and arrange meetings. Build a referral network to identify new business opportunities.


Conduct sales calls aimed at uncovering key sources of challenges and/or dissatisfaction faced by Facility Directors in managing heating, cooling, ventilation, and control system equipment.

Cultivate a sense of urgency to address needs and position Johnson Controls as the preferred supplier.

Offer solutions to prospective clients' needs through innovative applications of local branch service capabilities, emphasizing the sale of renewable maintenance agreements alongside digital service offerings, sustainability, and decarbonization.

Develop an understanding of the client's business and communicate effectively in their terminology.

Proposal Management


Review and finalize proposals with prospects, securing their commitment to the Johnson Controls solution.

Facilitate customer kick-off meetings, address customer concerns, create opportunities for additional sales, maintain service agreements, extend service agreements, and assist in the collections process. Keep management updated on progress and account status using Johnson Controls tools and other methods. Recognize when to seek assistance from management to ensure the sales process remains on track.

Marketing and Representation


Develop and execute territory marketing strategies aligned with the Johnson Controls Building Solutions business objectives. Participate in trade shows and engage with professional organizations.


Represent Johnson Controls with professionalism by conducting business in accordance with the highest standards of quality, integrity, and performance.

Qualifications


Required:
2-3 years of progressive experience in sales roles.


Preferred:
A strong aptitude for technical knowledge with meticulous attention to detail.
Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to engage both individuals and groups.
Experience in selling services and intangible products.
Familiarity with sales methodologies, standards, and practices.


Bonus Qualifications:
Knowledge of Building HVAC Systems.
Relevant experience in the field.
Post-secondary education.
