Position Overview
We are seeking a Quality Inspector to join our Quality Assurance department. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance throughout the manufacturing process. The Quality Inspector will be responsible for evaluating both manufactured and procured components, enhancing inspection protocols, and supporting the strategic objectives of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of parts and assemblies using appropriate measuring and testing equipment to ensure adherence to specifications and documentation.
- Perform visual inspections of welds to confirm compliance with established criteria during various inspection phases.
- Review job records against sales order documentation to validate compliance with project requirements.
- Assist manufacturing personnel by interpreting technical drawings and job documents to clarify job requirements.
- Execute testing procedures, including leak and dimensional tests, in accordance with quality protocols.
- Document and report any nonconformities clearly and concisely, following up to ensure resolutions are implemented.
- Communicate effectively with shop personnel and management regarding inspection results and quality issues.
- Manage calibration of testing equipment, ensuring all tools are maintained and documented appropriately.
- Participate in safety programs and adhere to company safety protocols.
- Contribute to the development and revision of quality management system documents as needed.
- Engage in audits and collaborate with other quality functions to meet compliance requirements.
- Support customer inspections and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all safety training and report incidents promptly.
- Assist in achieving ISO quality system objectives as directed.
- Complete assigned projects and tasks in a timely manner.
- Perform additional duties as required by management.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management systems and mechanical inspection within a manufacturing or service context.
- Familiarity with welding, inspection processes, and mechanical equipment assembly.
- Ability to qualify as an AWS Certified Welding Inspector and VT Level II Inspector.
- Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on collaboration.
- Integrity and high ethical standards in all professional interactions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Associate's degree in a relevant field.
- Professional certifications such as AWS CWI, ASQ, or ASNT.
- Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
