Key Responsibilities:

  1. Foster a welcoming atmosphere for customers by addressing inquiries about products available in the store.
  2. Acquire and maintain knowledge of merchandise to effectively respond to customer questions and make informed recommendations.
  3. Be visible and proactively greet, engage, and assist customers throughout their shopping experience.
  4. Efficiently process customer transactions at the checkout, ensuring accuracy and speed. Understand the Point of Sale (POS) system and manage various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, and loyalty programs.
  5. Adhere to company policies regarding cash handling and loss prevention.
  6. Comply with regulations concerning restricted sale items.
  7. Collaborate with front-end team members to promote a cohesive work environment.
  8. Report any pricing or product discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
  9. Stay informed about current promotions and seasonal offerings.
  10. Follow all food safety protocols and maintain proper temperature logs for perishable items.
  11. Identify and report any safety hazards or incidents to management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to manage stressful situations effectively.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills (counting, addition, subtraction).

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior customer service experience.
  • Experience as a courtesy clerk.
  • Proficiency in a second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing).
