Position Overview

The Financial Reporting and Consolidations Manager is responsible for overseeing the monthly financial reporting cycle, which includes the preparation of consolidated financial statements, technical accounting research, and fulfilling annual reporting obligations. This role also addresses ad hoc management requests and special projects, such as mergers and acquisitions. The manager will establish and execute accounting and control processes in alignment with general accounting principles and the policies of OmniTRAX Inc. to achieve corporate goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately prepare complex consolidated financial statements in a timely manner; effectively communicate financial results on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Oversee the preparation of annual financial statements, including cash flow statements and relevant footnotes, while coordinating the review process with external auditors.
  • Conduct research on technical accounting issues and document findings in technical memos for review by senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies by maintaining complete and accurate financial records.
  • Manage technical accounting areas, including Revenue and Leases, as well as other specialized accounting functions.
  • Support the reconciliation of various general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Lead the monthly balance sheet review process and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Act as a key participant in the annual audit process, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
  • Collaborate with various departments to resolve accounting and system-related issues.
  • Document and uphold company accounting policies.
  • Assist in M&A activities, including purchase price accounting and the integration of newly acquired entities.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Recognize internal control issues and collaborate with internal teams to address control weaknesses.
  • Maintain high levels of communication and collaboration with managers, analysts, and other business areas.
Additional Duties
  • Engage in strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting initiatives.
  • Perform other assigned duties and projects as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Manage and mentor a team of accountants, including three direct reports.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members in project execution; set performance objectives and offer ongoing coaching to help employees achieve their career goals.
  • Foster a culture of mutual respect and attention to detail to ensure successful execution of business objectives.
  • Deliver training to new and existing staff as required.
Compensation Details
  • FLSA Status: Exempt, not eligible for overtime compensation.
  • Eligible for participation in an annual discretionary bonus program.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting.
  • 5+ years of experience in Public Accounting and/or with publicly traded companies.
  • Strong understanding of financial metrics, including discounted cash flow analysis and associated contract terms.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring abilities to develop a high-performance team.
  • Experience in consolidating and preparing financial statements, including cash flow statements and related disclosures.
  • Extensive knowledge of US GAAP through practical experience.
  • Familiarity with foreign currency accounting.
  • Self-motivated with strong analytical, organizational, and administrative skills to meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with all levels of the organization.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated professional integrity and accountability.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
Certifications
  • CPA certification required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Rail Transportation, Supply Chain Logistics, Manufacturing, or Oil and Gas sectors.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Experience with Big 4 Public Accounting firms.
Work Environment
  • Work is conducted in a climate-controlled office environment utilizing standard office equipment.
