We are a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting food insecurity and reducing environmental impact through meal recovery and delivery.

Job Overview

This role plays a crucial part in managing the day-to-day operations of our Meal Recovery Program in Northern New Jersey. The successful candidate will be responsible for logistics, coordination of food recovery and distribution activities, equipment inventory management, and liaison with drivers, volunteers, food donors, and recipients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meal Recovery Logistics and Daily Operations
    • Plan and execute daily operations of the meal recovery program, including home delivery models
    • Prepare and distribute daily schedules
    • Schedule and dispatch drivers/volunteers with necessary equipment to designated locations
    • Coordinate volunteer slots and outreach efforts
    • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of food to designated locations
    • Maintain adherence to food safety protocols
    • Foster strong relationships with food donors, partner organizations, recipients, and volunteers
    • Manage delivery equipment, including container tracking systems
    • Organize and manage food and storage hubs in Princeton
    • Conduct site visits in Mercer County as needed
    • Train volunteers on SMM technology
  • Communication and Reporting
    • Cultivate effective communication with internal teams to streamline operations
    • Collaborate with Operations/Program/Outreach teams to resolve issues and requests
    • Compile and update reports on key operational metrics
    • Update databases and platforms with relevant information
    • Provide regular feedback to leadership on operational status and challenges/opportunities
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for building strong relationships with food donors, volunteers, recipients, and partners
  • Effective communication, including speaking, writing, and active listening
  • Able to give and receive feedback from diverse channels
  • Collaboration and teamwork skills, including cross-functional team work
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently on projects
  • Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced environments
  • Good time management, prioritization, and multitasking abilities
  • Planning capabilities and attention to detail
  • Able to demonstrate empathy and flexibility
  • Proficient with Google Suite and excellent Excel skills
  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus
  • Proficient in conversational Spanish (preferred)
