Patient Service Representative

The Patient Service Representative will provide exceptional support to patients and staff at Outreach Community Health Centers. This role involves greeting patients, registering them, and handling various administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and direct them to the appropriate person or destination.
- Answer telephone calls and respond to inquiries or direct callers to the relevant personnel.
- Provide registration and financial forms to patients and update demographic information at the front desk.
- Ensure new patient information is completed and accurate.
- Collect payments from patients and reconcile cash receipts daily.
- Enter confidential health information, demographics, and financial information into the computerized system accurately.
- Schedule appointments according to scheduling protocols and ensure patients receive reminder calls.
- Obtain pre-certification as required by patients' health care insurers.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and provide excellent customer service.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED, college preferred.
- 6 to 12 months of related experience within a busy customer service environment, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Healthcare and insurance verification experience preferred.
- Proven attention to detail and strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and establish effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and coworkers.
