Purpose & Scope


DuPont Advanced Cleans & Slurry Technologies, a key business within the Electronics and Industrials segment, is on a growth trajectory at the Hayward, California site.

We seek a proficient method development chemist for the Quality Control department.

The Hayward ACST facility produces a variety of formulations utilized in several stages of semiconductor manufacturing worldwide.

Emerging applications in Advanced Nodes and significant customer expansions will present new challenges in manufacturing as the site commissions new equipment and scales new products in the coming years.


The Quality Control Chemist will be responsible for operating testing equipment, analyzing results, and conducting necessary experiments in laboratory settings.

By collaborating with QC lab technicians and other QC personnel, the successful candidate will contribute to maintaining consistently high quality of our materials, ensuring smooth and seamless supply to our clients.

As QC requirements evolve, the chemist will also enhance our testing capabilities and methodologies for incoming raw materials and finished products.

Conducting Gage R&R and other Measurement Systems Analyses (MSAs) is a requisite skill.


The QC Chemist is expected to engage fully with R&D Development Engineers, Product Quality Engineers, and Manufacturing Technology Engineers, serving as a valuable resource during troubleshooting sessions related to material quality or supply disruptions.

The role requires collaboration as part of a global team, including leveraging analytical science laboratories at other DuPont locations.


Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with ISO9001:2015 and other quality standards.
Select and apply appropriate analytical techniques (for wet chemistry and particularly in chromatography - GC, IC, HPLC). Support enhancements for both incoming and outgoing quality control inspections linked to customer KPIs and Quality Objectives.

Utilize statistical analysis of property data to evaluate the capability to meet customer specifications and expectations (SQC, SPC) to resolve complex technical issues.

Develop, validate, and document new analytical methods.

Lead and/or participate in cross-functional teams to investigate internal and external (customer complaints) quality non-conformances and determine suitable corrective actions by coordinating the team using tools such as 5 Why, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, etc., ensuring the effectiveness of actions taken.
Communicate results effectively to stakeholders and other interested parties.
Adhere to all group, site, and company safety, ethics, and quality programs.
Support quality training as necessary for new and existing employees.
Effectively manage workloads to meet business priorities while functioning in a multi-project environment.

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

Qualifications:
B.S. in Analytical Chemistry or related scientific discipline

Experience with a broad range of analytical techniques, including but not limited to HPLC, GC, IC, utilizing various detectors as appropriate.

Preferred experience in the semiconductor or chemical industry.
Proficient in statistical software (JMP) and Microsoft programs (Excel, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting.
Ability to comprehend quality standards relevant to industry requirements (i.e., ISO 9001:2015) and the controls necessary to achieve and maintain compliance with these standards as applicable.
Problem-solving skills and familiarity with quality tools (e.g., SPC, 5S, Lean, Six Sigma, FMEA)

Ability to deliver clear and concise oral and written communications, making complex information understandable both internally and to our global clients.

Demonstrated leadership capabilities to drive quality improvements.

The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $142,890.00 annually.
