Role Summary:

The Project Manager will oversee the entire project management lifecycle, which includes designing and implementing project plans, maintaining schedules, managing tasks, issues, and risks, facilitating meetings, providing updates, and overseeing project budgets across various initiatives. This role entails managing multiple projects while ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLA) regarding schedule, cost, and quality objectives. The ideal candidate will exhibit a strong understanding of project management principles, including risk and issue management, resource allocation, and effort estimation. Additionally, the Project Manager will collaborate with other PMs to enhance standard operating procedures and elevate project management practices.

Compensation: $120,000 - $140,000 - Salary is based on the candidate's expertise, experience, and location.

Daily Responsibilities:

  1. Employ Agile project management methodologies to deliver projects efficiently within budget while ensuring all necessary features and functionalities are met on schedule.
  2. Oversee a portfolio of projects in alignment with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), adhering to budget constraints, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  3. Lead a diverse team of technical professionals and researchers within a matrix organization, ensuring that functional teams meet their milestones on time and within budget.
  4. Manage all facets of project and program engagement, including planning, vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, changes, risks, and issues.
  5. Provide consistent updates to project team members, executives, and senior management regarding project status, budgetary concerns, risks, decisions, delivery quality, and resource-related challenges using suitable monitoring tools and techniques.
  6. Convert business requirements into technical specifications and vice versa.
  7. Align business strategy with technology strategy in collaboration with team members and management.
  8. Engage in change control processes, such as reviewing configuration change requests.
  9. Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with various stakeholders.
  10. Ensure project-related documentation is current, properly organized, and securely stored.
  11. Coordinate stakeholder meetings and facilitate communication between the project manager and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  12. Engage with clients to identify and articulate project requirements, scope, and objectives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Security Clearance: Top-Secret security clearance, fully adjudicated.
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree required.
  • Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or Certified Scrum Master and/or PMI-ACP required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing projects utilizing the software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile/Scrum methodologies, and project management principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Project.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Prior experience in various roles, including business analyst, programmer, process analyst, project manager, and business consultant.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce clear, organized documentation quickly; strong presentation and meeting facilitation skills.
  • Self-motivated and decisive, with the ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities.
